  • Aww look at him! He's so adorable!

I had a schipperke but we got him from a bad breeder who didn't socialise him and as a result he was scared of everybody except me so we had to give him away. It was heartbreaking.

  • @samanthahaley Thank you! Yeah we heard schipperkes can be shy and then read that if they see 100 differenct faces in their first 3 months they are fine. Different ages, sexes, races etc. So we did that and now he's the most social, well behaved dog in the world.

A good breeder is key too.

  • why does your dog have a tail... most schipperke's dont have tails?!?!!?

  • you're not allowed to dock tails in australia... I don't understand why people do anyway. They have cute little tails! :)

  • CUTE! I have 1 chipperke puppy!

  • I'm in Brisbane and looking to buy a schipperke, could you please tell me which breeder you went through?

  • @xMvPxSHANKZx i feel sorry for you. if it helps, hes looking at you now. from dog heaven

  • that is rude letting the pup struggle to get up it is like torture its muscles can pull itself up

  • My Schip "Shadow" was only a half breed but down deep was truly Schipperke. Smart as a whip and the best friend I ever had. She had her tail and though most locally, recognize the breed with tails docked, I would never imagine her with out it.

With or without tails they have beautiful lines and are the most loving breed. She was way smarter than me.

  • I prefer the Schipperke without a tail, but I see why Australia doesn't allow it.

  • Awesome! What's up, Harvey?

  • @samanthahaley

It's called "working with the dog." One of ours was raised with semi-domesticated wolves that punked him all the time. When we got him, he was a scared mess. Time, patience, plenty of dog park, and now he's King of Dog Beach. Never quit.
