Iranians Beg for President to Help MEK

Sunday night. White House. Over 30 people from the Iranian American community are on hunger strike, going on 12 days -- in effort to get the President to protect the unarmed Iranian dissenters in Camp Ashraf (north of Baghdad). In 2003, when the U.S. invaded Iraq, this group (MEK) gave up their arms in exchange for protection from the U.S. Now, the U.S. pull out has left them vulnerable and two weeks ago, subject to a brutal attack by Iraqi forces. MEK, the group that resisted the Iranian regime in the 1980s, demands democracy. They now fear they will be sent back to Iraq - after 22 years living safely inside this Camp.
