It seems like this DVD demonstrates the core philosophy, using very basic moves. To me, that seems much more informative, and valuable than any demonstration of supposedly "advanced" applications.

if you look at other links to Shifu Yan Lei you will notice that he also has other DVDs on Qi Gong etc, also his gong fu brother Shifu Yan Zi has a selection of DVDs. You really cannot "go anywhere" to learn what these two shifu's can teach you, the are both excellent shifus who excelled in sanda/sanshou and are top coaches. I have trained with Yan Lei on many occasions and he is an outstanding martial artist and an incredibley focused man.

why the shaolin monks never show traditional fighting applications, and they only do Xanda fighting and techniques, if i need to become a Xanda practitioner i don't need to go to Shaolin or to other wetern shaolin monks to ask for training, any wushu school will teach me that, i don't say xanda is bad don't get me wrong ...
