Hhehe, me to. I got interested in old F1 movies from the 60th just because im an old GPL driver to. :)

So you have played GPL for so long, i "only" played for 3-4 years :) Maybe we even have raced against each other via VROC :)

Hill gave that race to Clark, he could have passed him any time after the suspension broke.

Before the race the Ford MKIV that Gurney and Foyt had won LeMans with did several parade laps.

An unknown French team entered two F2 cars to gain experience. MATRA

Saturday evening hundreds of people ran the track in their own cars. In both directions.

I saw a very beautiful woman walking her cheetah on a leash.

sorry didnt research properly. The first NASCAR race was in 57' at the Glen but a completely different track layout.

@TheMPSScissors back then the shortcut that stock cars use didn't even f'ing exist, the only reason the buss stop is there is because of Tommy Kendalls near-fatal sports car crash in 1991, and J.D. McDuffie's fatal crash a week later, it's there to slow the cars down going into the carosell or whatever it's called.

O I miss these days at The Glen! I saw every USGP up to 1966, then left for Nam in 67. RUIZ, this was the old "porkchop' track; 6 turns I used to be familiar with. Last summer I did a Track Day at the 'new' WGI & was totally 'lost' all around the course. I shook hands and took pics of all my heroes here: Hill, Surtees, Ginther, Rodriguez (both), Amon, Stewart, Gurney, Bonnier, McLaren, RIndt, Ireland, Brabham ~ never tried for Clark ~ I hated him for usually beating Hill. I lived for the Glen!

Never mind, I saw another video in which there was a diagram of how the track looked like around this time, and I guess what threw me off was that the front straight then was much shorter than it is today, and thus didn't have that huge downhill like it has today, but still had the same general shape as the NASCAR layout.

Ok, is it me, or do they have the start of the race right before the esses, if the general shape of the track I am thinking of was used (the set up NASCAR uses today)
