@blagamoush10 So, in response to his ignorance, after all, the ignorant actually do not know what they are ignorant of, here are some words you can hang your hat on from a JKA instructor. See Tekki shodan, Ohta on YouTube. "JKA karate is essentially Nakayama karate, one of Funakoshi's students. Funakoshi hated kumite, Nakayama embraced it and created what is basically tournament karate today. Check out the JKA website for more details." The JKA, a sport, not a martial art.

WARNING from a JKA life member: Years with the JKA (Japan and America) revealed contradictions that caused me to study original karate (beginning, what it is, why developed, how taught, general syllabus). The JKA practices a sport and it has eliminated much of original karate. As such it is not a martial art and is not karate at all. For the discerning and the objective; if you really want to learn of karate, Okinawa is the source. Find a teacher of PROVABLE lineage, it is fascinating.
