GFD was dispatched to a car vs viaduct at 9th and Broadway, on arrival the 1st due engine reported extrication required and requested the Ambulance to expedite. The victim passed away just after ems arrived. The coroner was contacted and an investigation was conducted.

  • Sorry, yes 10-7 is our term for out of service. In this case OOS due to manpower shortage thanks to Mayor Clay. Just 4 Engines and 1 Truck in the city that night!

  • We put the jaws and a set of cutters on Engine 2, because Squad 2 is 10-7. By right the Truck Companys carry jaws and cutters also, but it was 10-7 that evening.

  • that is a very dangerous bridge! poorly light,over 50 years old & no safety reflectors on that bridge at all..add that one to rudys fix it list..it is gonna happen again if something is not done!!!
