A video I made about victorian post mortem photography. As photography was a new science in the mid 19th century many people didnt have pictures of their loved ones alive so when someone passed away the opportunity was very often taken to acquire a last image of them, before their face and physical presence was gone forever.

A Note about my video - I made this film using images readily available on google pictures by typing in "victorian post mortem photos" I didnt visit any site in particular in get these pictures and I do not profit in any way from any of the videos I make.

  • death can be a scary thing but at the same time a beautifull thing... i´ve lost my son, my sister and my dad and the thing that keeps me going is the thought of them being together in a better and beautifull place.... i dont think death is something so fear.... hugs from me :)

  • Two question please:

    1. Where is the talking clip from?

    2. What is the music playing?

    I like 'em...

  • so sad but as one door closes another one opens ...even in the next life ...

  • Beautiful job!

  • @luvbug7808able In the Victorian era, photography was a fairly new invention and thus it would tend to be expensive. Most people only got their photos taken once: when they died. The people of the victorian era were not as frightened of death as we are. Because many people died young, they were more accepting of that it was the next part of life. Because of this I believe that the Victorian Era was a beautiful time. People didn't take their lives for granted.

  • Quite beautiful. This is how those families would have wanted their photos portrayed. Wonderful job.

  • if the dead could talk ,they would say only one word, and repeating it.,-- ( LIVE
