Good technique illustration (facing opposite shore rather than trying to face upstream and almost always had 3 points of contact with bottom) but should have unbuckled his backpack's hipbelt and sterum strap. Also probably better to not have the trekking pole straps on the wrist (though at least he had them pretty loose.) Problem is that all these straps can make it hard to recover in a fall. I sometimes cross with straps loosely held across my palms (vs. tight on the wrist)

Also often useful to loosen shoulder straps also because it lowers center of gravity of the pack. This was not a terribly difficult crossing (cold and long but on an even bottom and not too fast or deep), so the hiker shown probably did not feel the need to use all the precautions appropriate for a hard crossing, but if people are viewing this for technique, the comments seem worth making. Sorry if it sounds like nit-picking.
