National Thank You Day Winner Announced

We are pleased to announce the winner of our National Thank You Day contest! JoAnn Miller of Woodbury, NJ received a few surprise visitors at her doorstep this morning - Peggy Post, several TV news cameras, and 20+ of her closest friends - as she was announced our National Thank You Day grand-prize winner.




JoAnn was nominated by her friend, Mary. Here is JoAnn's inspiring nomination:




The homeless in Camden are a forgotten lot. They live on the streets, wearing all their clothes even in the hottest summer. One woman in my church, JoAnn Miller, has been so touched by their plight she made it her own personal mission to reach out to these people. Each weekend she makes 75 bagged lunches and distributes them, along with bottles of cold water, to the people in Camden. She's taken some of us with her, and we've learned how much we receive when we give. I think JoAnn deserves a meal made by TV's top chef Rachael Ray. And I know she'd want a donation to help continue her mission.




As her prize, JoAnn will travel to New York with her nominator, Mary, to appear as guests on the "Rachael Ray" talk show. Celebrity chef Rachael Ray will prepare a meal for them and talk about JoAnn's good deed. A donation of $10,000 will be made on behalf of merci to Yum-O!, Rachael Ray's non-profit organization that empowers kids and their families to develop healthy relationships with food and cooking. In addition, JoAnn will a $5,000 ShopRite gift card to support her mission to feed the homeless in Camden, NJ.
