  • I just watched the 1972 video of this same aria. Kraus exhibits only slight changes due to age. He was over 60, yet the voice is fresh, controlled, dynamic, and the diction exemplary. He was truly the PRINCE OF TENORS.

  • alfredo kraus is the tenor i look up to very much. he just stands out so well, and i hope my voice is as fresh as his at that age. i never get tired of listening to him. what a maestro.luciano pavarotti was great, but alfredo kraus is just something else and his name should be on the lips of everyone, including those that do not know opera, but know luciano pavarotti.

  • @bobopera spot on.

  • ¡¡¡¡¡GRANDEEEE!!!!

  • @puregoldenchild Kraus restricted his repetoire to tenor roles that were best for his voice. The Duke, Edgardo (Lucia), Werther, Lord Arturo (I Puritani), Alfredo (Traviata) etc. These (and others) are roles he owned for decades, and I heard him in most of them. No Cavaradossi, Pinkerton, Chenier, etc. He was one of the gods of opera.

  • @bobopera My voice teacher told me that the reason Alfredo Kraus kept his fresh voice at 60s is because of his very good vocal techniques.

  • @aaron3lee beautiful words yours. Regards

  • @hellopairs

You see, for your comments you should have selected a much earlier recording of this aria. Any criticism on a recording of 65 year old Kraus will look nasty, regardless of your intentions.
