Many of the songs on the album allude to the imminent breakup of Simon & Garfunkel. In ´So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright´ Artie - an architecture major - is blurred with the character of the famous architect and is clearly the person with whom the singer recalls spending many nights harmonizing till dawn. Artie has said how hurt he was when he discovered that the song was actually saying ´so long´ to him.

This song is one I remember my mother playing when I was very little, a toddler. To this day, it moves me and if not for that reason, because it is truly a beautiful song. I adore it.

Hearing that part where he says "so long already artie" at the end (2:57) even if it is their producer, sickens me. I've lost much respect for Paul Simon that he would even allow it to be there to publicly humiliate Art in such a way.. forever. What an ass. The songs remain beautiful, but I can't listen to them with the same sense of pleasure anymore. I knew they had a blow up and a break up, lots of bands do. They made up and had lots of reunions, though. Paul should have burned this version.
