Recorded February 1, 2010. Aircraft: N861DA. Destination: Atlanta.

After a fantastic weekend in Los Angeles, it was time to head back to NC via Atlanta. When I booked this flight, it showed a 767-300. Imagine how excited I was when we arrived at the gate and a beautiful 777 was sitting there. I assume it was a simple aircraft swap just on that day. With the aircraft change, the system scrambled our seat assignments and we ended up in the last row of the plane, but I still had a window so it worked out fine. I had never been a huge fan of the 777 for various reasons. One is that they are replacing 747s around the world at a fast pace and that is sad to me. However, the flight was great and I really enjoyed it and found the plane to be very spacious and comfortable. I am now a fan !

(The landing was at night but I did record it and may post it soon)

  • 777-200LR's are flown once a day roundtrip between Los Angeles International Airport and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. It has to be an LR, and it was not a swap if you departed LAX at around 7 AM.

  • This flight departed at 1:15 PM and was supposed to be a 767-300 according to our reservation so I call that an aircraft swap. Perhaps it was not !!! Again, other sites show N861DA as an ER but if you guys think it is an LR then it is !!!! Not going to argue !!!!!

  • @SDMullis If it departed at 1:15 from Los Angeles it was an aircraft swap. It is interesting that that would occur, because to my knowledge the 777-200LR's come in from Asia. I cannot figure out why an ER would be at LAX. The flight looked lightly booked is that the case?

  • I remember that there was not a single empty seat on the entire plane. I guess it is difficult to see that all the seats were full by looking at the video.

  • you sure this wasnt the LR a good way to know is if it had the lie flat seats in business class

  • As mentioned the reg number was N861DA. All the airliner websites show that aircraft is an ER. That's the only way I can know for sure. I do not remember the seats in business.

  • I take it this giant had just came in from her long haul from sydney.

  • Another great video!! You have some absolute awesome uploads, and I enjoy them all! By the way, you are correct. The aircraft is a 777-200 ER model, evidenced by the non-raked wing tips.

  • wat was your cruise

  • i love the tripple 7

  • I love the 777 jet

  • Isn't Los Angeles way different than the South? I am a California native, but recently moved to Atlanta. The landscape of Los Angeles is covered in grey and white because of the urban sprawl, but in Georgia there are green natural land.

  • @JohnRhysMusician No YSSY because my dad works for delta and flew the 777.

  • @SDMullis 861DA is an ER
