Portola Action - SD70ACe Highball

Union Pacific SD70ACe's #8570 and #8392 notch up and pull a mix freight eastbound out of Portola. The first horn you hear is from a locomotive at the Portola Railroad Museum, not the SD70ACe's as this was during the Railroad Days festivities.

I thought it was appropriate to see a classic Western Pacific boxcar in the manifest, so my camera zooms in on it (1:49).

Do you have any idea what the scanner frequencies are there? I can't find them anywhere.

@WPRR1: Last I checked, AAR channel 27, 160.515 MHz, Omaha Dispatcher 10. There was a dispatcher territory change recently, so it might be different now.

Don't ask me why, but I like the look of the SD70ACe the best of all EMD wide cabs. All those notches and radiators and things on them. They look very aggressive.

@theUPman100 You're right! EMDs are very powerful pullers and rarely slip. GEs are notorious for slipping, especially the AC6000CW. Thats why CSX added additional weight to theirs. The best thing about GE is the chugging and its no secret that a new GE will rock you to sleep on a road freight. They ride better than a new cadillac! No exaggeration!
