Aurikku - There's More To Living Than Being Alive

Okay, firstly, I won't be online very often in the near future - my internet does not work, and my new sony vegas does not work. T_T Sooo while I try to fix it, this is the offering I have for you.

Even if you don't see Auron and Rikku as a couple, I think you can appreciate that there is a unique friendship between them, and while I see this as a couples vid, I think it fits anywhere in the FFX story, as any kind of relationship.

~~~Story~~~

Auron had come to find her. Rikku was sat, watching the sunset, her arms holding her knees tightly to her chest. She was scared, but he knew it was time he should tell her.

"Rikku, there is something you should know."

He walked toward her, and she looked at him, then looked away. She didn't want to hear it. If what she thought was true, then everything she had been told by him, everything she believed - it was all a lie.

"I am also an Unsent. When Braska and Jecht died defeating Sin...I just couldn't accept it. I came back here, tried to avenge them...."

"But she struck me down." Yunalesca, the woman of myth, the first Summoner. Rikku was plagued by thoughts of her, thoughts of Auron.

"I've been wandering ever since, never going to the Farplane."
"No! Don't say that....it's not over yet!"

It hurt to see her this way, there was no hope left, there was no sense in wishing for salvation. He was dead. And so he tried to prove it to her, so that she could understand and accept it. So she could move on.

"It is one of those things that is difficult to explain. Very well, I will show you. My memories."

Pulling the pyreflies from inside him, his memories appeared before them, like ghosts. Auron watched as his young body ran toward Yunalesca, and as it fell to the ground, lifeless.

Rikku watched in horror, running toward the ghost and sitting beside it helplessly.

They talked, and she told him how this couldn't happen to him, it wouldn't. He was the legendary guardian after all...

"Legendary Guardian?! I was just a boy. I wanted to change the world too, but I changed nothing."

Rikku turned to him, shouting.

"NO!" Surrounded by the ghosts of Auron, she told him how she felt, how he was strong, and how he had changed Spira. But he wouldn't listen. He felt he knew his place. He was a Guardian, a failed one. At the end of this pilgrimage, he would fade away. Devastated, Rikku was forced to accept his fate too.

At Zanarkand, Yunalesca rose again, and the group were faced by their strongest foe yet. Rikku was terrified, and she was worried about Auron. She was consumed by thoughts of his death. As Yunalesca was defeated, she smiled over at him, hoping he was okay, and he remembered their time together through their journey.

Soon they had defeated Sin. The end had come too quickly, and as Auron stepped forward to be Sent, Rikku ran after him.

"It's been...long enough."
"Don't say that...we're going to see each other again..." Rikku whispered quietly, staring up at him.

Turning and walking away, Auron smiled for the last time.
"It's alright."

This isn't exactly the full story, it's hard to explain it all, I've had it in mind for about 3 months I just haven't been able to make it. I'll try and write it out better soon.
