At the time of this posting, the 2nd anniversary of Hurricane Katrina is upon us. I wrote this song, New Orleans 2005, in the days immediately following the disaster, as it was becoming apparent how appallingly mismanaged the rescue effort actually was, and how desperate was the situation of the thousands there with inadequate food, water, medical attention, security, etc.
This video features a live performance of the song, recorded at the FG Kafe, in the Kami-Itabashi area of Tokyo, Japan, on August 11, 2007. Sorry that the audio quality is not the greatest: although the Kafe is a friendly place with a nice atmosphere, there is no PA system, so everything you hear (voice, drone and the udu drum I'm playing) was running through a guitar amplifier only! Plus the little mic in the video camera overloads every now and then, resulting in distortion. Oh well...
And please visit the Polarity Records website!
NOTE: Though the closing credits of this video show the website "PolarityRecords DOT NET", that site is now OUT OF SERVICE. The new home is PolarityRecords DOT COM.

Truth tellers will always find friction. No criticism from me of the less-than-pro audio/video.

Still the apex of perfection.
Even in an impromptu situation such as this live performance.
Although he hits the nail on the head, it is unfair-unfortunate that his political views clearly guarantee the squelching of any future stardom, but I guess that only adds to the romance of the underground.
