A short animated film about the Belgian political structure.
The text was written by Marcel Sel, a Belgian writer, author of Walen Buiten, a best-seller on the «Belgian Crisis».
The music was specifically composed by Laurent Aglat for the film, and Emma Dornan's beautiful voice gave the commentary its magical tone.
The film was directed by Jerome de Gerlache.

Who made this fucking shit. Our pissing statue in Brussels shows our supriority; pissing on all inferior tourists from under developed countries. Belgium rules, as we will make abundantly clear at the world cup 2014.

oh and you want to know even more about how you are talking utter bullshit? The belgian bourgeoisie were actually the ones who were appalled by the violence of the revolution and wanted to compromise with the dutch and stay under dutch rule. Yeah the guys you said started the belgian revolution.

and german. As you pointed out, you are half right. There was already a bigger buffer state against France: it's name: the united kingdom of the Netherlands, but if said buffer would fall apart, in whose favour would that play? France of course. but Belgium WAS, it's about tomorrow that we're talking about here. I see we can either keep beating a dead horse or try something new, a state overhaul would be nice but something tells me it would be harder then rejoining a more powerful nation

+ the only reason belgium was allowed to stay independent was as a buffer AGAINST france. and as a neutral state. Oh and belgium used to be the 4th most powerful country in the world (fact). Yes as a consequence of horrible work ethics during the industrial revolution (that were also done in the neighbouring countries) and you know what a big part of those were flemish rich fuckers who spoke french just because every businessman in europe spoke french at the time just as english now.

hahahahaha are you kidding right now. Ok first of all there is a big difference between flemish rich people speaking french because like english today it was the international and financial language and actual french people. Second of all if you think the belgian revolution was only done by rich belgians you are a moron. The biggest reason of the belgian revolution was the strongly catholic flemish revolting against the protestant dutch. Most of those were poor flemish catholics.

On the cultural difference thing: It's what's causing this political crisis don't say it's something enriching. Belgium is a joke, always has been. Created by French people who hated the fact they were under Dutch rule and saw it as an oppertunity to also rid themselves of French laws so that the rich men (who started the Belgian revolution) could become even more powerful. Simple as that. Same with the united states, only thing is that country actually did something after, something significant

it's just facing a problem and saying fuck it i leave my study group behind and go to another one because they are doing better. The logical thing to do would be to destroy all the govermental layers of our country and produce one government that rules all like all countries and stop whining about cultural differences which are considered as something enriching in many many other countries. Their is no real cultural connection to the dutch and vlaanderen. Only language. no more than france

Why does their government remind me of Panem from The Hunger Games?

A saxophone and a dynamo ain't gonna do it to create culture but I digress. my thoughts exactly, I would just like to see some change. And not in some pure nationalistic form but just a curious and frankly logical standpoint. Sure some question can be raised Our king? our ministers? the communities? Brussels? Well for Brussels it seems simple to make it a European small nation, like the Vatican or Lichtenstein but as a capital neutral zone for European interests which it already kinda is.
