This animation shows the results of a slamming and seakeeping simulation performed with CFD software.
This model accounts for boat rigid body dynamics with ALE techniques and free surface calculation.
The analysis was done with the CFD software Tdyn (www.compassis.com)

  • It seems that Tdyn is the software used which has been produced by a spanish company "Compass". That's cool. What I don't quite understand is why software packages like gambit / fluent (by Ansys) is so popular in academic level since their interface is so crap and their function so problematic... What I'm saying is that it's a pitty that students in so many universities waste their time with gambit and fluent while apparently there are other similar software packages available... anyone with me?
