Ha ha! I searched for 'Gamelan gong playing' because I was amazed at how low the Gamelan gong was which I saw today. I saw the gong at the exact same place though: the Southbank Centre!!!

I know what you mean about the sound, but don;t forget, you are hearing a very low rez audio file.

For instance, commercial recordings are recorded at 2304kbps, then reduced to 1411kbps which is the industry standard for a CD; commercial MP3s typically run at 128 kbps. You are losing 90% of the audio signal. I'm guessing the audio component of the typical YouTube posting is even less than 128kbps.

This is a long way of saying that those gongs sound amazing in person.

@jockhead29 Your speakers must not have enough bass. That thing is pure base, it sounds like one of those things where you really have to hear it in person to get the full benefit.

Not being funny but turn your speakers up. I couldn't hear them at first either. The dialogue will be REALLY loud though.
