Ok so I can't just buy a benq drive and just plug it in? I need to do all those things you did? Does this have any effect on xbox live?

@GothicPunk007 You have to flash the DVD key into the new XBox so the console can read discs. If the DVD key in the drive firmware and the DVD key in the console itself don't match, then no games will work.
