Edward Said was a socialist. He did not believe in the god of nationalism or tribalism or Islamicism, Zionism, Evangelical Christian radicals etc... He believed in secular unity.

I know that sounds horrible for Israel which does not believe in equality. Edward Said

was born a Christian, but did not follow religion. He championed Palestinian rights, and Israel championed and defended its oppression of another people. Why do people defend that?
