Three things before we get started:
1. A special thanks to AAW and SCW for some of the footage used. This video wouldn't be happening otherwise.
2. The Phoenix Splash isn't here. There isn't a whole lot of usable footage of the move, and he's missed it more than it's been hit, either way.
3. There are up to date happenings discussed here, all the way up to ROH's eigthth anniversary show. If you don't want to know, don't look.
Tyler Black is someone likely familiar to most of you, but here's an introduction, either way. Debuting in the Midwest, Tyler first worked feds such as AAW, SCW, and countless others, and continues to work for some of them even as he's become arguably the hottest young wrestler on the Indy scene. He formed a tag team with Marek Brave, which eventually developed into a heated rivalry, with the feud having to be finished in the confines of a No Rope, Barbed Wire Deathmatch. Honing his craft, he was eventually spotted by those representing IWA Mid-South, and he soon found himself a job there. It was here that his skills were first noticed by the larger portion of the wrestling world. Tyler made it into the second round of the 2005 Ted Petty Invitational, but was eliminated in the quarterfinals. He found himself an arch rival in the form of Josh Abercrombie. The two feuded extensively, until Tyler lost a Loser Leaves Town Match, and Tyler was gone from IWA MS. Around this time, he formed a tag team with Jimmy Jacobs, known as either Do It For Her in WSX, or Kiss 2 Kill in PWG. They faced the Murder City Machine Guns in late 2006 for PWG, putting on a spectacular match, even if they didn't pull out the win. That teaming would become pivotal in the future months, as Ring of Honor was being stalked by an entity known only as the Age of the Fall. At their third PPV, ROH got their answer, when Jimmy Jacobs, Necro Butcher, and Tyler Black appeared, brutalizing the Briscoes. Three months after their inital appearance, Jacobs and Black defeated the Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Titles. Even though their reign was short, they would win a tournament later in 2008 to win the titles once again. Meanwhile, Black was having incredible breakout matches with the likes of Nigel McGuinness and Bryan Danielson. After a year, Tyler lost a match to Austin Aries, and was kicked out of the Age of the Fall. He then waged war on his former ally, and the two actually settled their differences, for the most part, in the first main event of ROH on HDNet. Tyler then put himself into the title picture once again, first with two spectacular matches with Bryan Danielson on HDNet, in which both resulted in double countouts. Tyler also found himself in another HDNet main event, taking on Aries, Danielson, and Jerry Lynn for the ROH World Heavyweight Title. Black drilled Danielson with God's Last Gift, and if it hadn't been for Jerry Lynn, Black would have been the new champion. A few weeks later, he and Danielson unsuccessfully challenged the American Wolves for the ROH World Tag Team Titles, and the two decided to end their rivalry with one more match, also on HDNet. This time, Black nailed God's Last Gift once again, and with no one to save him, Danielson was pinned. At this point, Black's feud with Aries began to heat up, even as Black pinned Nigel McGuinness on yet another HDNet main event. After ducking him for some time, a match was finally signed for Final Battle 2009. However, the match created just as much controversy as the events leading up to it, and a rematch was immediately signed, this time with three judges(Roderick Strong, Kenny King, and Jim Cornette) to ensure a winner. Mere weeks before the rematch, Tyler defeated Roderick on HDNet, and also sent a message to Austin Aries. Finally, at ROH's Eight Anniversary Show, Tyler Black took his rightful place, and defeated Austin Aries for the ROH World Heavyweight Title. Tyler Black brings a versatile offense to where ever he may wrestle, and his opponent must look for moves coming from every direction. The Buckle Bomb, usually combined with a Grounded Superkick, has spelt certain doom for many of Black's opponents. Paroxysm simply soften up the neck for God's Last Gift.
Is the Paroxysm on Alex Shelley the only footage of it there is? its the only clip i've been able to find

It's just the move common, from what I've seen.

I can't believe WWE got Tyler Black... I hope they let him use some of this shit. Obviously not God's Last Gift, haha.

I could see GLG used in a WWE ring.

Remember the top-rope move Black did to win ROH? He's up there facing away from the ring, then does a 450 with a half twist. What's that one called? It's one of my favorite moves ever.
I'm still waiting to see him do it in the WWE, but I'd rather see him pull it out in a title match or at least in a PPV match instead of debuting it on Thursday night or something. I think it's a good sign that he isn't pulling out all the moves on Superstars- it means he's going places.
