Mark's AAT story

I left university without completing my degree having decided to follow my dream and become an actor. At the time, I felt I could never work in an office and the idea of doing a 9 to 5 job just didn't appeal to me.

I then had a family and my priorities completely changed. I realised I now wanted to be able to work consistent hours and needed a reliable income to provide for my family. I decided I needed a profession that would be able to give me a secure future.

I applied for a training contract at KPMG and they supported me while I completed the AAT Accounting Qualification. As part of my training, I've worked across many different areas and the wide range of experience has helped me put my study into context, and apply what I've learnt. I've found the work to be varied and challenging, and I enjoy going out and meeting clients. Despite, thinking for many years that I never wanted a 9 to 5 office job, I've found the opposite is true!
