"I Won't Last A Day Without You" by Maureen McGovern was written by Roger Nichols & Paul Williams. This song was released in 1973 with B-Side "Darlene" (20th Century TC-2051) and also inculuded in the album "The Morning After" in 1973 (20th Century T-419).
This in my opinion is the best version....she is great!

@ajsdecepida I don't think Paul Williams sang anyone else's songs.

@Gnillob802, that'd be 'cuz Williams wrote the song.

Paul Williams sung this song so often on TV I think his version was more well known at the time than the Carpenters or McGovern versions. Paul's is the voice I hear when I hear this song.

Maureen McGovern had the best version of this song. It was too bad that her version was overshadowed by the Carpenters. A lot of people I knew never heard Maureen's version.

I am a Maureen fan and I love Karen too, but for this song and the content of the lyric, neither of them seem to be too emotive about lasting a day without anything other than their recording contracts. Shirley puts a litlle passion, pain and emotion into it. The others should stick to syrup stuff; which we all love.

@toucheturtle300 I disagree, I love Maureen's singing but Karen Carpenter's version is the best. Karen and Maureen are the two best pop singers ever in my view..
