  • I got a Chinese LP Don Felder knock off its mahogany. And visually looks really nice hanging up there on the wall it looks like the real Mc Coy,that was after I striped it and basically replaced everything you can possibly think off . It cost me a small fortune all up it owes me about $650 the parts cost me more than the guitar I use it for gigs a lot and nobody can tell the difference they think it's a real Gibson LOL :) muahahaha!

  • @fssales1 i doubt you have a very high attention for detail then because these fakes are all about aesthetics at not functionality or quality

  • can u please explain exactly how you changed the bridge? i have a les paul shaped Memphis guitar, i bought the bridge/tail set but the bushings dont fit the holes in the guitar :/ their to thin,i dont know where to go from here :/ please help?

  • @megacharlie Some people buy the fake Gibsons as project guitars. After a few upgrades and a fret-dress & set-up, you can have a decent Gibson replica for a fraction of the bloated Gibson price. And some people use their fakes for gigging and save their expensive & delicate Gibson for the recording studio and photo shoots. I don't like gigging with my Gibson...I worry too much about it getting damaged or stolen.

  • you should buy a gibson, noob idiot

  • @PilotDoofy My friend bought one of these fakes about 5 years ago. It was very well-made with solid hardwoods, good construction, and a gorgeous finish. It needed a few upgrades (pickups, pots, tuners, bridge, nut) and then a fret-dress & set-up. The result was so good he decided to buy another fake. With all the parts & labor they cost him about $650 each but they both feel/play/sound/look like they cost thousands.

  • @OddTimeMan wow. I stand corrected :)

  • @Nick80R Gibsons are NOT cheap in the US. They are nice guitars, but they're WAY overpriced. You're paying mostly for the name. Solid-body electric guitars are just hardwoods & simple electronics, it isn't rocket science. My Gibson LP is nice, but it doesn't blow me away as the pricetag suggests it should. I actually like my $600 Korean-made Dean Cadillac BETTER.
