Part 1 of 2 in which Fr. Richard Simon preaches & teaches that Jesus calls God "Father" for a very unique and special reason in his 06-15-08 Roman Catholic Homily for 11th Sunday in Ordinary Time on June 15, 2008. The reason has a distinct character and feature - like the distinct difference between that of a contract and a covenant.
A beautiful homily that fittingly reminds us that as His adopted sons & daughters by Baptism it is "not you who have chosen Me, it is I who have chosen you."

I just love this sermon. Fr. Simon says Jesus calls God "Father" for a very unique and special reason. The reason has a distinct character and feature - like the distinct difference between that of a contract and a covenant. Although St. Thomas Aquinas said you can't apply gender to God, Fr. Simon explains why use "God the Father" instead of "God the Mother" as some people do. He also explains what is so unique and/or special when a man adopts a child! A great Father's Day sermon!
