Amy married Steve in the Lady Bird Johnson Grove, a federal park, 45 min from our hotel in Arcata, and a 20 min walk into the forest. However, it almost didn't happen, because the park rangers, armed with guns, mace and asp's were out in force to prevent us from walking through the forest. They were going to fine us $100 each, but when we said we would pay the fine then said they could arrest us if we didn't comply. About 20 of us wanted to walk (NO chairs, music--or birdseed), and we were told by the Department of Interior in San Francisco 6 months ago no permit was needed to just walk in and exchange vows.
Jacob video taped this ridiculous situation.
After about an hour, many phone calls and threats to call our congressman, we were allowed to walk in and have the ceremony. Enjoy the video!
OH for god's sake! How much more does the government want to control? The really scary part though is that these agents of the state believe what they are doing is right, WRONG!!!!! a little common sense go's a long way
