Extreme New Home for Patrick Hughes

I had the honor to witness Patrick Hughes and his family receiving a new home from Extreme Home Makeover. It was such a blessing to see several thousand people show up and support such a worthy cause for a remarkable young man and his wonderful family.

This was definitely a great moment in my life. Just to have been there and witnessed such a great family receiving something so awesome is something I will always cherish. Patrick and his father are no doubt an inspiration to us all. Thanks for your comment.

kybred, have you watched the ESPN story on this family? It sure seems like Patrick works hard at his music. He has incredible determination and a powerfully positive attitude. He touches people, kybred. I don't mean to change your mind about him, and i wish you the best in your own endeavours. He has Parents who support him and nurture him. His father works the graveyard shift at UPS in order to be with him during the day! I love you Patrick, congratulations on your positive attitude!!!

You are entitled to you're opinion, but i must say, that if you really look into their family life without cameras or anything like that, there is MUCH frustration and hurt. All families have this, but these guys experience some things you never will, so unless you are patrick and his family, it's not right for you to say he's not deserving. But it's okay, we all make mistakes.

So who exactly in your mind is deserving? Maybe you should try going one week without being able to see or walk and see how that goes. Sure a lot of people have disabilities and everyone has struggles but how many of them manage to not only overcome their obstacles but develop extraordinary talent that garners national recognition and inspires millions? Fortunately a lot of good people came together to give this family a better life, in thanks for reminding us all what life is truly about.
