A lot of people know that dachshunds were originally bred to go down into badger burrows and haul them out. Not surprisingly, Dachshunds are really good diggers and have no fear of confined spaces (or having their face ripped off by a badger).

Check out this example of the breed at work.

  • Cute dog video turns into internet tough guy talk. LOL

  • looks like a buckeye candy

  • @jaxorbetter

    They have cuteness!

  • The dogs in the video are a long way from the Dachshund that is used for hunting. Their backs are too long and muzzles too short/thin to work effectively underground.

These are the Kennel clubs idea of form over function.

Nice too see you letting them have some fun though, it's obviously enjoying itself!

As has been said though they are a bit on the large side. It might be worth either increasing the exercise they get or getting a lower protien food for them.

All the best with the dogs.

  • badgers ? Nope

    Foxes

  • I have a dschshund myself. Its only about 2 months old :P
