This is a clip from a roughly 20 minute video "Last Word: Odetta" from NY Times. The entire video (with much better resolution and audio quality than I was able to present here) is available at:
http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/arts/20081203_odetta.html
Please, go watch it! It is such a beautifully done video, of a wonderful, amazing person.

If I never beheld beauty before in my life then here she is. Their is no background music but I hear it. I can feel her words in my heart and all I can say is one day I can only hope to be as beautiful as she is.

She could be your own mother singing you a lullaby.

I can hear the moaning heart in her delivery of this song. The music filled with augmented chords! different in the fact it sounds like a death cry - longing for heaven! I heard this a lot in different words from many people this year. RDW-2010

Odetta é uma das vozes mais poderosas da música mundial. É prato requintado para os que apreciam música de qualidade.

@matheusbieber007 This is my interpretation of what you have said: “Odetta is/was one of the most powerful voices in the world of song/music; it is music for those that have the courage and sensitivity to listen”. Obrigadinha :) for your beautiful words, and happiest of holidays (if you are celebrating them at this time)!
