  • I don't think age factors into music too much anymore. This wasn't the norm when it came out, it was a subculture that embraced it, and there still is that subculture amongst kids in modern times that embrace Reznor's work. Insync and the Backstreets Boys were big shit of the 90s, and you know what no one remembers? Those groups. Good music lives on despite the bad. So don't worry about it. 20 years from now Spiral will still be a classic, if not more so.

  • @PayNoAttentiontoCaes hey, that's me right now!

  • BOY was Trent Reznor angry!

  • BOY was Trent Reznor angry!

  • @awake352 even if your revile boy bands, they are some teenage girl's favorite band and I'm sure they will be remebered for decades to come as well. Not all music has to be serious, sometimes...it's just music for the sake of it. It all has validity really. Some kids don't stray far from the radio, and some find something like this early on. That's not to say pop music doesn't serve a purpose, people still dance and like to chase pussy right?

  • @awake352 Yes Yes Yes.

  • @awake352 you remember those groups.... ;)

agreed.. 1992 and 94 were his darkest.. since then he has his dark moments.. especially when he wrote "Every Day is Exactly The Same" profound meaning behind his works.. but it's bound to be different to someone else's perspective.

  • Huh. Beginning is sampled from THX-1138.

  • This takes me back yearssssssss. Grew up with this album, die with this album.

  • When I first heard Pretty hate machine in 92', I was 15. Needless to say, i really enjoyed it, then when i got my hands on the downward spiral I was hooked. Since then i have been a true fan, always waiting impatiently for the next album. Thank you for 2 decades of amazing music, it has been a great pleasure to watch you grow and matuer as both an artist and as a person. I can only hope to continue enjoying new NIN music for many years to come.
