Less obvious is how the OPPOSITE effect is used IN JUMPS to slow down the fierce rotation when landing the QUAD jump - the free leg gets extended, and some people (like Plushy) also lean their body forward (to put as much mass as possible outside of the rotation center). Also, that position helps Plushy do the second toe-loop in his 4+3 combination.
