Some lore, since no one here seem to know any.

More than a millennia ago the TR (a republic, not communists) along with the civilian corporation arrived at Auraxis through a wormhole.

Ancient alien artifacts and technology was discovered on Auraxis. Technology of immortality. Rebirth. And possibly a way home.

The TR did not want this technology to be commonly known and implemented restrictions. Many which the NC saw as an infringement of their rights. After a massacre they took up arms.

The TR on Earth was not tyrannical, no, but the chap in charge of Auraxis (I forget his name) became increasingly draconian when the wormhole back to Earth closed. Add to that the sentimental appeals to a collective identity that the TR put out in their propaganda and you get an idea as to why people accuse the TR of being Commies.

A strong state, a collective 'will', a common identity and an authoritarian military; they're at the very least akin to National Socialists nowadays.

because making everyone immortal totaly would not result in an insane rise of crime right? humanity was not ready for immortality, and still is not, that is why the Terran republic places their restrictions on Vanu technology (apart from their inherent instability)

I don't like electronic music, but VS main theme is amazing. Overral, I prefer NC music to all. It's very badass and wild west-like.
