I find it amazing that many so feel threatened by the "idea" that if you STOP, even for a moment, "you" will cease to exist and become a "mindless" nothing. Well, I feel that the truth is is that our mind is keeping us from experiencing our true self and we need to stop, as scary as that may seem, to allow our "self" to come out of the Dualist world of good and bad (etc), and be, just be, and experience who you are - without the mind interference.

saying she is a Buddhist means nothing. Look at the variability amongst Christians .... juging from their words and actions, it would be very difficult to discover what it means to be a Christian. Gangaji also has a great love for Jesus. So do I, but this does not make me a Christian in the usual sense of the word. All of these labels end up being traps. That which I am, that which you are, cannot be captured by a label.

(continuation) No doubt there are garments of identity that can one by one be removed. They are false creations of our collective minds and personality.(false ego) A safe haven is desired and a witness is created. We find previously unknown psychological peace in this. Religion says this atman is eternal. A skeptic says that it will die with the brain. What evidence can you present to the skeptic that it is 1. eternal and that 2. It is who you are.

We are never in danger of losing our soul. Being afraid of silence sounds silly - it is our natural self.

GANGAJI IS JUST COMMERCIAL.....AND THAT'S ALL. WITH A SOFT VOICE ANYBODY CAN HYPNOTIZE YOU AND LEAVE AS UNAWARE AS YOU WERE BEFORE....SORRY TO WHOMEVER I'VE MIGHT OFFENDED WITH THIS COMMENT BUT THIS IS THE TRUTH ABOUT HER. IF YOU WANNA HAVE A TASTE OF THAT SILENT AWARENESS, I CAN SHOW YOU IN LESS THAN A MINUTE AND FOR FREE. PEOPLE GO TO THIS RETREAT AND JUST NEW IDEAS AND THAT'S IT. I CAN SHOW WHOEVER IS INTERESTED IN TRUE AWARENESS HOW TO REALIZE THIS IF NOT IN A MINUTE, THEN IN SECONDS.

There are quite a few people who found out, you could maybe ask them.

This lady here is one of them. You could ask the Dalai Lama, who travels the world and advocates peace, respect, understanding..stuff like that.

You might also ask Kyentse Yeshe, successful businessman and the son of a renowned Tibetan scholar. He says when, after 30 years of not being interested in the teachings of his father, he finally tried meditation, it made him more efficient, giving him more time with his family..
