Best-selling author Barbara Kingsolver (and her family) wrote "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle", a book about eating only food that they grew or which came from their community for an entire year. She reads the first chapter at Book Passage in Northern Cal. It's a tale of purpose, natural food, and learning to live sustainably.

  • After reading this book I changed how I shop and eat, not out of guilt but because I love the Earth and my own health and want to act wisely toward both.

  • This woman is wonderful, and everyone should read her last book (Animal, Vegetable, Miracle). It's nice seeing her in person, on this video. Thanks for posting it.

  • You are nuts! Do you work for Monsanto?

  • I've never read a worse book in my entire life! There was not a single interesting thing in the book and I don't think that it could have possibly been any more boring. If you are thinking about reading this book DON'T!!

  • I started this book and loved it, but due to work and school, then other books, then more school, haven't had a chance for it again. As soon as I'm finished with my current book though, I'm picking this one up.

I loved her Poisonwood Bible, I recommend her to all. :)

  • I wanted to like this book (I was hoping for a book along the lines of the 'Geek Farm Life' podcast), but, unfortunately - I found her way too preachy throughout the book.

  • yes, wonderful, Barbara!! Blessings! :)

  • Her daughter goes to my school!
