got a question for you, i got a 1997 cadillac sts and just happened to get my subs n amp installed earlier today. the installer at futureshop was telling me that if i wanted to get a deck (he installed the amp n shit to my stolk HU) i would need to spend like over 2g's on amps for each speaker i have?? i see u got an alpine deck, i was also lookin at an alpine deck...what did u have to do to get a deck in ur caddy? u have bose system stolk right?

Yeah mines came with Bose. So the bose speakers run at 1 ohm, meaning that you couldnt just hook up aftermarket speakers to the stock bose hu. Nor could you hook up a aftermarket hu to the stock bose speakers. It wont cost you $2k, you just have to replace the stock speakers and hu, thats it. I bought a deck, speakers, and a 4 channel amp to power them. Its a tradeoff, stock bose stuff or aftermarket. are the subs over powering the speakers?

It all depends on how you drive and where you drive. I do about 70mph on the freeway and with a little uphill I get about 24mpg, on flat to a little downhill I get between 26-30mpg. In town it sucks gas, I get like 220 miles to a tank in town compared to 380 if I drive all freeway, it really depends on how you drive. Also you have the newer northstar engine which gets better gas milage than mines, so expect a little better than what I get.
