Ironically, I first heard of Myst and Riven from a book I had to read for school. I believe it was called "The Curious Case of the Dog in the NIghttime."

It is the most popular, thats not a matter of opinion.
I love this game, though I agree with Biopharmer, Riven is my favorite.

The PC and Mac publisher was Brodurbund. I have the disc here, it definitely says Brodurbund.
The console distributers where Midway and Sunsoft.
As far as I can tell, none of these companies are, or ever where, owned by Acclaim.

this IS the most popular, but Riven is a lot better IMO.

I love this game, even if it is extremely hard to beat. I think that's the most popular game Cyan has ever done, IMHO.
BTW, Acclaim Entertainment disributed the game in North America. Not making this up.
