@trainguy91 Sometimes my friend. Its sad when its gone for good, no more rail road. But some rail road tracks being ripped out can be a good thing if a new set of tracks are being added on
-
@railfunny Personally, I'm a trails to rails kinda guy.

Its so sad,I live in renton and I always loved the horn at night. I heard that woodinville and some other cities are trying to get the train back and CBRW (columbia basin railroad) has a surplus of passenger cars so there is a chance that it will come back. I dont think the passenger cars will be the same because some might have been sold to a canadian railroad.

At least the track is gettin replaced with new rails. The tracks were ripped out north of my home town and it sucks!!
-
Ouch

Nobody knows whats rly going to happen. People are fighting over if teh tracks should be replaced with a bike trail or kept and maybe put some commuter trains on them.
-
well what happens to the remains of the dinner train track than boy? they left it alone and didnt connect what remained of it to the replacement tracks
-
It is a sad day in history, saw the equipment roll in...
It's heart breaking to see train tracks getting ripped out :(

The main track (to the right of the one being ripped out) was also removed, and the entire route through Renton rebuilt with new bridges and a new single track.
The line is severed north of Renton, though, and the only train using this route is the one delivering to Boeing.

You've got it wrong. BNSF is REPLACING this track and the RR bridges over Rainier Ave, Hardie, Shattuck, and the Cedar River and the RR work has NOTHING to do with the dinner train departure.

You are correct that the work is not due to the dinner train departing. However, it is all part of the same project - dismantling of portions of the eastside rail line.
