  • How much would this cost?

  • @vsvs2002 The affordability of each house is part of the judged criteria of Solar Decathlon 2011 so the teams demonstrate how energy-saving features can help consumers save money. During the competition a professional estimator will determine the construction cost of each house. Teams will earn 100 points for achieving a target construction cost of $250,000 or less. A sliding point scale will be applied to houses with costs between $250,001 and $600,000. Check back to see how they do!

  • Another brilliant architectural design: I only wish that more was explained regarding the unique energy-saving, sustainability-related features (if any) that mark this house--as Maryland's video, which seemed to fixate on those aspects over architecture.

  • I have seen maybe 7 of these and this design is my favorite. Although they don't go into too much detail about the efficiency.

  • Interesting design! I would like to see more about the energy efficient measures of the house.
