I remember as a kid, my family never missed a John Denver Special. When he hit the charts, My older brother save his paper route money and bought a rosewood 6-string Guild almost like JDs, from a priest in our church. After a while, he could play most of JDs songs. He was 13 at the time, hes 53 now and still has that guitar. It has the prettiest tone. The man may have looked a little geeky, but he had the pipes and could play. RIP

in Australia, it's the 11th of October, but tommorow I will be away all day. So today, I'm listening to all of his music, and all the videos.
Tonight, I'm going to have a campfire, and I'm gonna get my guitar out and play this song. I picked the instrument up because of two people- My Dad and John Denver.
He died when I was only 9, but he has had an impact on my whole life.
Bless you, John Denver.

@Daisy8007 - it's written from the point of view of an old man who's nearing the end. He's reflecting that all in all, things have been pretty good, although like most us he's got a few regrets. The good times cancel them out though. I learnt to play this especially to play at my dad's funeral. He's still with us but I'm not sure how I'll go when the time comes.
Watch the sun go down???? As if the muppets never passed the pipe around!
