I was a former special forces soldier (US ARMY) working as an engineer in two full time engineering jobs, making over 150k/year, and was prescribed Levaquin without ever being told of its dangers (in late 2004/early 2005), my health went to hell, pain I thought initially related to old injuries became systemic, everything fell apart, insomnia, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, liver dysfunction, only recently found out Levaquin caused it. Like nutrasweet, FDA and govt get bought for greed.

this is so bullshit ive been on cipro twice for infections and nothing has happend this is nonsenssseee....do you know how much testing is done just to get an FDA approval???

Nearly a year and a half, still can't drive, can hartdly walk, sight deteriorating faster than they can change my glasses, muscles disolved, violent shaking, hideous skin disfurement, nightmares, depression, suicidal feelings, plantar fascitis, hair loss, nails growing in ridges, breathlessness, congestive heart failure, rotor cuff damage, severe tendinitis, old wounds reopen and won't heal...
They should be forse-fed their own poison and so should the officials who allow it.

I took two cycles of cipro for an infection that wasnt even there.Stupid Doctor.Although I have some health issues 2 years later,Im not sure if I could blame the drug, but who knows...

I took fluoroquinolone called LEVAQUIN for 10 days, 3 years ago this month. I have severe Peripheral Nueropathy in arms/legs/feet/hands - extremely painful. Lost my job, income, nearly everything due to this poison!!!
-
I took Cipro on more than one occasion without problems, but ultimately had to stop due to tendon and muscle pain that I initially didn't associate with the medication. Sounds like I got off easy compared to some.

I took just 4 pills of Avelox a year ago. I still have flares and tendinitis in arms and legs. Tremors, panic attacks, depression, imbalance and the list goes on. Stay away from this drug. Not worthy to give a try. There are plenty of safer antibiotics.

I'm so fortunate that I stopped taking it after only 4 pills over a 48 hour period. Even after that small of a dose, I noticed a little swelling and pain in the tendons. It's since passed for the most part, but once in a while I still get the odd twitch.
I wouldn't have wanted to live anymore if I had to give up weight lifting due to a fucking FDA approved drug!

I took 4 pills of cipro and am having pain in both achillies tendons especially where it attaches to the heel bone. Don't take this stuff unless you like playing russian roulette with your health. Normal antibiotics only affect bacteria and not human cells unless you are sensitive or allergic to the substance. Not so with this class of antibiotics, there is evidence that it affects human dna and enzymes the same as bacteria.

Crippled (among other things) due to the toxic nature of this drug (antibiotic). It affects every organ, tissue, cell, every bodily system. Do NOT ever take it again....and consider yourself spared (hopefully).
how long do you have to take the medication?

There is evidence that serious reactions, including fatalities may occur with as little as one dose.
