Garbage is brought by dump trucks to be dropped off at Vancouver's Delta BC landfill. Then Cat bulldozers flatten the waste. Efforts are made by staff to scare gulls and other birds away. Insecticide, deodorant etc. are sprayed on when needed. It is a lot of work. On June 05, 2010, the landfill in Delta had a open house, hundreds of residents from the Greater Vancouver area came by to visit. Not far away from the Delta landfill site are facilities for compositing yard trimmings. [Produced by Ray Van Eng ] www.vancouver21.com
