This is the first in a set of two reverse Rome/Barbarian games against Maceman.

I lead the Gauls against Maceman's Brutii legionary force on the snowy Scottish Highlands.

The second game will be uploaded tomorrow. Enjoy.

  • hey man do you still play? I would really like to play a friendly with yea.

  • I think Dacia is better. Better archer line-up and the falxmen are very effective against cavalry. Use a warband or some light unit to absorb the charge and send the falxmen in to crush the cavalry.

Though Scythia has the best barbarian cavalry, they are severly lacking in melee footmen.

  • hay i reacon if u put a bunch of berserkes on your left then u could fight of the cavalry

  • excellent battle, excelent tactics

    5*

  • I completely agree, the upside to fighting phalanxes such as that, is that they aren't as maneuverable as cohorts. Their lines can be teased apart due to them needing to be facing you to do the damage and they are easier to flank.

The problem I find anyway is the cavalry and archers, only Germania has a decent chance of winning every time due to it's fear effect and great heavy cavalry.
