i did not see the snapping turtle under the dock, he took a quick snap at the bass before i landed it, the bass had no hope of survival so i let the snapper eat it. The snapping turtle was unharmed, can't say the same for the bass :)

  • Story time children, gather 'round. In a sense, this is the food chain. Fish is in distress, turtle makes with the eating, other fish will take its place.

When I go to the pet store to buy a mouse or a rat for my snake, I choose the rodent that spends the most time on the wheel in the display. Why? Because I can. Does this make me a terrible person? Perhaps. However disturbing my feeding habits might be, my snake continues to live.

Nature is cruel, people are cruel, get used to it.

  • @theleMBeleht, shut up!!! Would it be funny if I brought u home and smashed both UR spine and legs? HUH?!

  • fucking turtles... i hate them. whenever i see a turtle i take it home, and then smash it with a hammer. funny when the shell cracks lol^^

  • @TheOneHutch i hope u kill the rats and mice first...

  • @SuprafighterKO I'll take what you said into consideration.

  • @veelalynne

I meant frozen food can't be digest by them because they have a different digestive system. If you freeze their food it loses all its nutrients. Just kill the prey humanely with a knife to a vital area were it would die instantly, then give it to your turtle. A responsible owner must be aware of the proper diet of the animal and not deprive them of proper protien if they need it. Don't let morals keep you from feeding a omnivore, or carnivore properly.

  • @SuprafighterKO As far as I know, the only substance that frozen food has is extra carbon dioxide because that is how they kill them. If they used pentobarbital or some other form of euthanasia then it would concern me a lot more. But as such, I'm not ready to risk my snapper being bitten because as you probably already know, bites infect very easily in chelonians. Besides, snappers thrive on carrion. It makes up a large part of their diet in the wild.

  • @veelalynne

frozen or euthanized food should never be consumed because it is harmful to your pet. The euthanized food is filled with bad substances. Frozen food is just like junk food it holds no nutritional value, and chelonians need a lot of nutrients. Animals arn't us they need live prey because that's the way their digestive system works, it's cruel to feed something that they can't digest.

  • Got one today a little bigger than that out of the pond. It was killing many fish. We took it back into the woods and turned it loose about 2 mile away

  • @starla2546 Snapping turtles make awesome pets for a number of reasons. Unfortunately, some people want to use them as a weapon to hurt and maim other animals. I don't think people like that really love their pet for the turtle that he or she is; they only like to make it kill something. Many of us who own snapping turtles feed frozen/thawed rats and other rodents to minimize suffering on the part of the prey animal. That way, we can enjoy the beauty of the turtle without the suffering.

  • were u using the banjo minnow lol
