@05Rachel When it's that close to the pocket there's lots of room for error, so even if your aim is wrong it will still go in the pocket. If you place the ball further away from the pocket and make the cut angle more severe, you will miss the pocket.
You need to be aiming at a point on the cloth at the center of your imaginary ghost ball instead of aiming at a point on the object ball.

Can you offer advice on how to make a long shot? thank you ; )

@forbidden0617 This guy makes some good videos, but for sure this is the wrong way to aim a cut shot, if you aim this way, you will miss many cut shots that you hit perfectly, just because you aimed wrong.

@Cojoness thanks :)

@Strummify the contact betwen the balls shoud be on the point aimed , so you dont really aim in that point , you aim nearby so the white ball hit the other ball in that point

@Godivanne honestly the best thing is repetition and practice. Try to stay relaxed and have a clean stroke. Hitting the cue ball slightly off center can throw it enough to miss. Just practice your stroke and make sure you hit center cue ball. If it's a cut shot then use the ghost ball technique to aim. Just draw a line from center of the pocket to center of the ball you're hitting. Extend the line one inch and aim at that point on the table. That will give you the correct point of contact.
