Shinzen describes why he liked mindfulness, how he needed a vastly senior teacher to kick his ass, and found a masters master, Joshu Sasaki Roshi. http://www.basicmindfulness.org/
Shinzen then goes on to describe 3 things he learned from Roshi.
This is part of an interview Shinzen Young did with Stephanie Nash in August 2009.
The purpose of this interview was to 'get the scoop' on Shinzen - the man behind the techniques. See other segments being posted over next few weeks for some good stories.

That was such a brilliant break down, so true, I have seen & experienced pure conscious awareness, I was zapped and euphorically bouncing off the planet, I found that I too was looking for more of a hit from the person who helped me experience this! And this was not just me! everyone who had gone through the same process was wanting another hit. I found it dissipated & then I had to find it again & use it in real situations! Funny how it was/is always there! find it? No become aware of it? Yes!

I want to see Shinzen when he's pissed off. I want to humanize him, and yeh, it's all perception, duh.
