I have an acoustic version of this from Mark Radcliff Radio 1 session in the 90's ... dare i say it, but the stripped down version sounds even better than the official single

I didn't start getting into them until last summer. This was the first album I'd heard, and it really got me hooked. Just because it's poppy doesn't mean it's worse than their other albums, it just means it's different. All of The Boo Radleys' albums were great.

wake up was probably their worst song (though still good )but they suffered because the radio wouldnt play any follow up singles even though like this they were much better

The jibberish fade out vocals sounded like they had been reversed so I played it backwards and it's a lewd rhyme mixed with the tune from the old Club biscuit advert 'if you like a lot of chocolate ...'
