YAY! We're finally done! and it only took over half of the year! *confetti* At the beginning, we continue the flashback Jemi thing. So, don't get confused. And enjoy the "predictable" finale of I Found Out. :)
Although Demi was at a complete unrest, she relaxed as she stared at Joe. She nodded absent-mindedly. "Sure."
"All right." Joe replied, and stood in front of her with the script. "I'll start." He started, and that's when Demi lost touch with the world and her conscious mind.
Yes, she heard Joe as she spoke; but his voice was distant as she stared at him. She studied him; his thoughtful face as his eyes took in the words and how his mouth curved when he spoke them. His stance was strong; his arms appeared firm. His hair hung slightly over his eyes. This was all perfect to Demi. Joe was perfect in all ways; however, she never told him that. Joe finished his line, and looked up at Demi, waiting for her to read her lines. He held the script out for her to read from.
But Demi didn't hear him for she was still stuck in her own world. She stared at Joe, who raised his eyebrow again. "Demi?" Joe said. Still in trance and not worrying about anything that troubled her that day, Demi grabbed Joe's face and brushed her lips against his.
The familiar sound of the elevator belll woke Demi from her daydream. She walked out of the elevator, into the lobby, and out of the door with full knowledge of who she wanted. It wasn't a hard choice, but she knew it was the right one. Smiling for the first time in hours, Demi made her way out of the hotel and to her car. When Demi found her car, there was a sticky note left on the window, flapping in the wind. She grabbed it, and read the message left:
"Demi; I know this must be hard for you, and I'm sorry it had to come down to this. But I love you no matter what choice you make. I always will. If you choose him, then I hope the best for you both. Just make the choice that's right for you.
--Nick"
The message left Demi slightly back into the state of not having her mind made up. Quickly, she got in her car and drove off, hoping that things would change again soon.
At the beach, Nick was sitting on a bench near the local bus stop all by himself. Joe still hadn't arrived yet and Nick had no idea where he could be. When Nick saw Demi's car pull up, he sat up straight, although his stomach was clenching inside him. Demi turned her car off, and got out of her car; her eyes immediately met with Nick's and she walked over to him. Soon after, Demi noticed Joe was nowhere in sight. Now standing right beside Nick she asked, "Where's Joe?" To which Nick responded with a small shrug. Another car pulled up beside Demi's. Nick's older brother jumped out in a black tuxedo and another bouquet of flowers in hand. "Sorry, I'm late." Joe said, walking over to Nick and Demi. "I had to buy these flowers." He smiled, and offered them out to Demi, who looked down at them. "Joe, that's sweet of you...let's get this over with." She mumbled, now feeling uneasy at the thought of letting one of them down. Joe stood triumphantly while Nick rested his chin in his hands with a straight face.
Demi looked up at Joe. "Can I talk to you somewhere?" She asked. Joe smiled. "Sure." He took Demi's hand and led her out to the parking lot behind his car. "Talk away."
Demi sighed, "Joe...it was sweet of you to buy me the flowers; and I'm very flattered that you still have feelings for me."
Joe nodded fast. "But I'm just not in love with you." Demi finished. Joe's smile immediately melted away, and he looked down at the bouquet in his hands. "That feeling had set sail a long time ago...you know, when you gave me hell?" She said.
"But I said I was so sorry." Joe replied.
"Saying sorry won't make me automatically fall back in love with you, Joe."
Joe chuckled bitterly. "Right." Demi layed a hand on his arm. "I hope we can still be friends." Joe nodded. "We can. I'll just need to get over myself. I'll be okay."
"That's the Joe I know." Demi smiled and Joe smiled a little back. "Well, what are you waiting for?" He said. "Go get him."
Demi laughed and made her way back over to Nick, who was still sitting down on the bench. He saw Demi coming his way and stood up.
"Did you choose him?" He immediately asked. Demi replied with grabbing Nick's face and pressing her lips against his. She pulled away and left Nick grinning. "If by him, you mean you?" Demi joked. Nick laughed. "Of course I do." He wrapped his arms around her. "Are you sure you want me?"
"I couldn't be more sure." Demi replied. Joe walked out from behind his car and back up to the couple. "I wish the best for you guys. I really do." He said with a curt smile. Nick smiled back at his brother. "Thank you, Joe."
"Just please don't hurt each other." Joe added. "You guys make too much of a cute couple to be broken up." With that, Joe climbed in his car, backed out, and sped away.
