On March 27,2008 Mechai Viravaidhya, the founder and chairman of Population and Community Development Association (PDA) Thailand, received the Skoll Award and one million dollar Grant for Social Entrepreneurship Program, promoting tolerance and human rights, health, environmental sustainability, peace and security, and economic and social equity.In May 2007, Mechai received Bill Gates Global Health Award and one million dollar Grant for its outstanding family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention program.
