Climate Change is the long term permanent change, not the short term change caused by cities. Climate Change is not just about getting hotter, it is about the lack of clean air to breath, about the lack of clean water to drink, about the lack of land to grow natural eco systems. Google pollution.

What a joy to be in that room in 2011! And what an honor to share the stage with Bill Mckibben during the Do The Math Tour. Go Bill!

He is speaking at a podium, with a sign in the background, to an audience in a climate-controlled building...an audience wearing clothes and taking pictures, looking at a video screen -- all made possible by fossil fuels and of course money. Hypocrisy?

@shintsu01 Business isnt inherently evil, they are just out to make money, a business isnt a person, it doesnt give a shit about morals.

fractional reserve banking is an unsustainable enslavement system, but its nothing to do with pollution

If governments make renewable energy a good investment (Either by taxing pollution of discounting renewable until the economies of scale balance) - then u wont be able to stop those evil bastards from setting up solar panels - big Capex but little Opex

@shintsu01 In spain the government set a fixed price for electricity introduced into the grid that was produced by solar - they now have the biggest plant in the world.

The Carbon Tax is another idea that overtime it will just be cheaper to build green energy plants.

Im liberal as shit but i recognise markets are the most powerful tool for change we have and if you provide business with the right incentive for innovation - the rest usually takes care of itself.

A tool, we need a tool to fight oil and coal companies. We need to show them we don't need their planet destroying services. People are happy with their lives so people are complacent. Well I'm going to invent an option and when I get it patented in time we can thumb our nose at these greedy oil company bastards.

New edge physics tells us that outer world reality mirrors human inner world reality; collective beliefs, thoughts, e-motions and actions. I suggest that we speak up compassionately for world peace, and to redirect military money, might, technology and personnel to assist humans in most need globally, to free Earth and all life from the harmful manufacture and use of munitions, to fund projects that serve the greater good of all, and to restore peace, harmony and balance.

First rule one learns in chemical engineering and chemistry class: EVERYthing is toxic FOR SOME GIVEN AMOUNT. Air. Water. Your own damned cells (heard of cancer? uncontrolled growth?) It's called: HOW MUCH. So, yes - even CO2.

That's what separates the know-nothing AGW-deniers from the intelligent anti-AGW activists like Bill McKibben: knowing amounts.
