@rebeccawashere yes i do pity most of the legitimately homeless people. But there are some out there who choose to be homeless because they're too lazy too work a normal job. I met a guy in portland who said he made over $20,000 last year panhandling....
or askin you for a fucking dollar. never fails ANYTIME im in downtown. you got sad music up there but its not really sad. maybe theres a couple that have a story but most spend those dollars on booze or a hit o crack. but i do enjoy dodging the homeless people when i run through downtown.
Nice. Now show the guys at Alaskan + Yesler, Pioneer Pergola, under the viaduct, Pine + Western, etc.; who piss on the sidewalk, swear at the tourists, masturbate in public, shoplift from hardworking store owners, discard needles on the benches.....
Shall I go on? Bunch of homeless douche'bags. Pray for a tsunami to hit Seattle and clean the streets.
It has been almost 25 years since Martin Bell, Mary Ellen Mark, and Cheryl McCall made the documentary "Streetwise" in Seattle. Since then, several major changes have taken place on both a municipal level and a societal level in Seattle. Like many big cities experiencing an "urban renaissance," downtown Seattle has been gentrified significantly in recent years. Nevertheless, homelessness is still an issue which is rampant in the Emerald City.
Thanks for sharing this clip. Even though I'm from a 3rd world country (Sri Lanka), my heart goes out to all these homeless folks in the US.May they have the strength to go through each day....
